Closing the Leadership Gap Through Project Execution
Project Rise with Dr. Helen, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit leadership and workforce-development organization.
We help professionals—particularly Black and Brown women and others historically underrepresented in leadership—build confidence, strengthen project execution capabilities, earn respected credentials, increase their career visibility, and advance.
Our work extends beyond the classroom. Through leadership development, PMP® certification pathways, applied practicum, career advocacy, employer connections, and long-term mentorship, we help talented professionals become better prepared to lead complex work and pursue larger opportunities.
Project Rise with Dr. Helen, Inc. serves professionals and organizations nationally through live virtual programming, with selected in-person training, workshops, and partnerships.
Our Mission:
To close leadership and opportunity gaps by equipping professionals with the confidence, project-leadership capability, practical experience, career visibility, and support needed to rise, thrive, and lead.
With a particular commitment to Black and Brown women and others historically underrepresented in leadership, we create pathways that connect learning to application, credentials to opportunity, and talent to organizations seeking prepared leaders.
Our Vision:
A world in which capable professionals are not overlooked because of race, gender, career interruptions, limited access, or lack of sponsorship—and where organizations can find, develop, and retain leaders who are prepared to deliver meaningful results.
We envision stronger leadership pipelines, more inclusive workplaces, improved project execution, and greater access to opportunity for professionals whose talent has too often gone unseen.
Our Story
Meet Dr. Helen –
Technology Executive, Educator, Project Leader, and Advocate for Inclusive Leadership
Dr. Helen Uzamere has spent more than 25 years leading technology, transformation, and complex initiatives across the United States, Europe, and Africa.
Throughout her career, she repeatedly saw highly capable professionals—particularly Black and Brown women—deliver results while remaining overlooked for visibility, sponsorship, and senior leadership opportunities. She also saw organizations struggle with execution because talented people had not been given the structure, language, practical development, or support required to lead complex work successfully.
She founded Project Rise with Dr. Helen, Inc. to help close both gaps.
The organization uses project execution as a practical framework for leadership development. Participants do more than study concepts or earn credentials. They build confidence, executive presence, strategic communication, practical project capability, career visibility, and evidence of their ability to perform the work.
Dr. Helen’s philosophy is simple:
Certification can open a door. Practical capability, confidence, sponsorship, and continued support help people walk through it—and remain there.
What We Do
We provide multiple pathways based on the knowledge, certification, practical experience, career support, or organizational capability each person or employer needs.
Leadership and Project-Execution Training
We teach professionals how to lead complex work using predictive, Agile, and hybrid project-management principles—whether or not “Project Manager” appears in their title.
PMP® Certification Pathways
We provide rigorous live instruction, PMI application support, exam preparation, study strategy, and readiness coaching for professionals pursuing the PMP® credential.
Applied Practicum and Portfolio Development
Participants in selected pathways work through realistic project scenarios, create integrated project artifacts, present their recommendations, and build evidence of their practical capability.
Confidence and Leadership Development
Our programs strengthen executive presence, strategic communication, stakeholder influence, decision-making, conflict management, and organizational navigation.
Career Advancement and Advocacy
Selected pathways include résumé and LinkedIn positioning, career strategy, interview preparation, advocacy, employer connections, promotion support, and long-term mentorship.
Talent and Employer Connections
The Project Rise with Dr. Helen Talent Network helps qualified professionals increase their visibility while giving employers access to motivated talent across project leadership and adjacent disciplines.
Organizational Training and Advisory Support
We help organizations strengthen leadership pipelines, improve project execution, create shared language, address capability gaps, develop PMO structures, and prepare teams to lead change more effectively.
